A major online retailer were shopping for an air distribution system and Reznor were the right purchase.
The distribution centre, which is located on the prime Merling Park industrial site in Birmingham, required a maintained internal temperature of 17oC whilst the external temperature can go as low as -5oC with an area of 48m x 71m and 9m in height to be heated to accommodate its plethora of products and services which range from groceries to music.
Reznor were able to offer their air mixing high induction air distribution system, which is an innovative concept that is quick and easy to install. It is also reliable and inexpensive in operation making it ideal for this project.
Dean Italiano said “The system provides an evenly diffused distribution of warm air and is ideal for open warehouses or retail areas with false ceilings. The system utilises a lightweight duct that has a large number of small outlet nozzles, either evenly spaced along the length of the duct or located in specific areas; and was chosen based on the mounting height of 8.0m to the underside for one duct and 5.0m for the other. Air is introduced into the duct and forced out of the nozzles at high speed, creating a negative pressure zone – thereby inducing surrounding air and re-circulating “free heat” from lighting and heat that has risen to the roof space which would normally be wasted.”
“On our project we had a tight deadline; therefore we were happy with the speed and ease of installation from the Airmix duct, it was hugely beneficial to our installation window” commented Howard Tuffin, Operations Director.
Air Mixing was selected for its versatility in dealing with specific heating and ventilation requirements and for the speed and lack of disruption on installation, proving ideal for this projects requirements.
