Back in August of this year, the Reznor team at our Mercer, Pennsylvania facility completed seven years without a recordable accident. This milestone would not be possible without the dedication of our safety committee. A special thank you to this group that includes Chuck Reagle, Matt Walsh, Stan Covert, Jeff Serbic, Dion Forrester, and Kendall Stoops.
During each week, the safety team walks through the entire facility looking for anything out of place or that could possibly be a danger. A Supervisor Safety Inspection form is completed and filed on the Mercer Safety Teams site. Each employee is asked about anything they have seen that needs to be addressed. Lastly, each Friday the team gathers for the last 15 minutes of the day to discuss any safety items in Mercer or any reported incidents in the rest of Madison Air.
To celebrate, the team held an event out in the lab. A BBQ lunch was catered which included ribs, smoked wings, pulled pork and brisket with the usual BBQ sides. The team also played games that included corn hole, Pop-A-Shot and Pop Darts. After lunch the team was thanked again for their efforts in maintaining a safe work environment and then sent home to enjoy the weekend.
“This is an outstanding achievement, especially given the nature of our work, and it speaks volumes about your commitment to safety and to one another”, said Chuck Reagle, Director of Engineering. By encouraging communication and taking action when issues arise, Reznor continues to drive the importance of safety and the well-being of our employees.
